Quality Inspector (REF: QUIN2025)
The Role
The Quality Inspector will be required to ensure that all machined parts and products meet quality standards through inspections, including visual, dimensional, and functional checks.
The ideal candidate will have experience and confidence in using a variety of calibration tools, such as; callipers, micrometers, and a CMM machine. They will be required to interpret detailed engineering drawings (modern and historic) and work in a machine shop where tight tolerances are required to be achieved.
Being well organised and highly self-driven with an approachable flexible personality is essential to the role, as you are a key piece of Reekie’s production team, engineering team and overall business quality success.
Key Responsibilities
Conducting Inspections: Performing first off and final inspections of machined parts, assemblies, and components using various tools and equipment.
Interpreting Documentation: Reading and understanding engineering drawings, 3D models, technical specifications, and quality standards and identify defects.
Using Inspection Equipment: Operating tools like callipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, and Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).
Documenting Results: Accurately recording inspection findings, creating reports, and initiating non-conformance reports (NCRs) when necessary. (Progress System)
Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Identifying the root cause of quality issues, working with Operations Manager and production teams to implement corrective actions, and participating in continuous improvement initiatives.
Maintaining Equipment: Ensuring inspection equipment is routinely calibrated, maintained, and in good working order.
Collaborating with Teams: Working closely with machinists, engineers, and quality control personnel to ensure quality standards are met and continually approve.
Adhering to Safety and Quality Standards: Maintaining a clean and safe work environment, following all safety protocols, and adhering to quality control procedures.
Skills and Qualifications
Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot quality issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate with all team members and build strong working relationships.
Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy are essential.
Team Development: Confidence to pass on experience and coach other team members in the use of inspection tooling and processes.
IT Literate: Able to accurately document all finding for client and business data recording purposed.
Machining Knowledge: A strong machining background with technical and mechanical knowledge in a manufacturing environment.
Work Pattern
Normal working hours are as follows:
Mon–Thurs 0745hrs to 1610hrs – 10min paid tea break, 25 min unpaid lunch break
Fri 0745hrs to 1245hrs – 10 min paid tea break
Location
Based at our machine shop in Inchinnan Business Park, Renfrew, beside Glasgow Airport
Holiday
33 days a year, including 8 public holidays.
Benefits
– 37 hours per week, basic rate is £19.26/hr.

Insitu Machinist (REF: INMA0225)
The Role
We are looking for dynamic machinists, who are looking to broaden their skill out on sites. Do you enjoy a challenge and solving problems? Do you fancy working in a wide variety of settings from nuclear power industry, oil and gas, renewables as well as aerospace, heavy industry and naval construction and refits and many more. The work is primarily based on sites across the UK, with increasing work in Europe and Worldwide.

Skill Set
The successful candidate:
– Must be a time-served skilled machinist. No previous experience of insitu machining is required as support to develop your skills in the insitu environment will be provided.

Location
Based at our machine shop in Inchinnan Business Park, Renfrew, beside Glasgow Airport. The insitu role will take you across the country, Europe and Worldwide.
Salary and Benefits
– Ability to earn up to £70,000 per year.
– Accrued Leave, accumulated at 0.1hrs per hour worked on site, paid at basic shop rate.
– The basic shop rate is £18.66/hr, enhanced rates for work on site, including dayshift, nightshift, offshore and more.
– Overtime is paid at time and a half outside normal hours and double time Saturday after 12noon and all-day Sunday.
– Holiday entitlement, 25 days annual holidays and 8 days of public holidays each holiday year, all paid at holiday rate. (Based on the last 52 worked weeks)
– One additional day annual holiday for every 10 years’ service completed.
– Company discretionary sick pay, after first year.
