Challenge:

How Challenge Was Addressed:
We began by reviewing the original drawings to identify the best means of approaching the challenge. Hand drawings were scanned and, using the latest CAD software combined with our engineering experience, we converted them to a 3D space envelope showing the section of the structure with the defect: letting us accurately assess the task and select the most efficient Reekie machine tool for the job. We could then start manufacturing bespoke parts and developing and refining our machine tool.

Value Added:
Assessment of the task and way forward took just two days. Efficiency of the machine tool increased due to accurate selection process. Speedy turn around to perform machining operation on-site, or sub-sea in this case. Computer Aided Design Software combined with the expertise of our engineering department made this near impossible task a reality.
